The White’s IGA story began thirty years ago when Michael & Roz White took on their first store in 1993; a humble 7-day-a- week convenience store located in the heart of Maroochydore. With a small but hard-working team of just three employees, it was their first taste in the world of retail, fresh food and groceries.
Four years later, Roz and Michael welcomed the birth of their son and just one week into parenthood, bought a second convenience store in the beautiful beach suburb of Mooloolaba. Soon after, their daughter was born in 2001 when they acquired their third store, a modest corner shop located at Mt Coolum.
They poured their time, energy and love into their fourth store, purchasing IGA Bli Bli in 2004 and then demolished and rebuilt it in 2013. In 2007 they bought a store in the lush, green Mooloolah Valley and in 2016, they opened the doors to their brand-new purpose-built IGA store in Peregian Beach. IGA Baringa followed shortly after in 2019 and their most recent store, IGA Forest Glen opened in December 2022.
Each new White’s IGA store is intimately designed, unique to the area and to White’s and built with the local community in mind, to provide the freshest, most delicious food and extensive range of locally sourced produce and goods you won’t find anywhere else in one location.
White’s distinctive locavore culture incorporates a trademarked ‘tractor’ emblem to highlight locally grown and made products, sourced from two hundred Sunshine Coast providores. Behind every locavore tractor is a family and a story connecting you to the journey of the food and goodies we all enjoy.
Roz and Michael believe that connected communities are vibrant, diverse, and self-sustainable. When we support each other, we build stronger communities, and we are committed to supporting the community that supports us.
